Southeast Ohio Trip
SFN 549622
We confirmed the remaining Washington and Athens County bridges on Saturday, which inclued the pictured Athens County bridge that was closed about a year ago. The local we taked to was upset about the inconvenience. The bridge is an interesting Pratt Pinned Pony that is lighter than comparable Wrought Iron Bridge Co. examples and has some additional pre-tensioned rods. It looks like iron! The OHBI build date (1900) is suspect.

Note added: Nathan Holth recongnized this bridge as a Columbia Bridge Works (Dayton OH) structure of the 1880's. He has a picture of a sister bridge in Somerset, PA.
