Disturbing Trend?

I added the Buck Run Road Bridge (1926) in Union County to the list. It has just been removed by the county to be replaced by a covered bridge! They put the pictures of its destruction on their website here. This bridge joins two others that also are to meet a similar fate: one in Hancock county (SFN 3234312) and one in Ashtabula County (SFN 432644).

This misguided act of "preservation" naturally disturbs the hell out of me! Why they think that a brand new CB is of any significance is beyond me! Good job they are not in charge of the Liberty Bell ... they'd probably have the crack welded or maybe take the English manufacturer up on its offer to replace the bell with a new one (under warranty!).
